Quizlet is a new site for learning vocabulary. You enter vocabulary words and definitions, then Quizlet gives you the tools to study them. It also has all sorts of collaboration tools so that classmates can work on word sets together.

Apple reports record profit of $1 Billion; Revenue exceeds $7 Billion

CUPERTINO, California—January 17, 2007—Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2007 first quarter ended December 30, 2006. The Company posted record revenue of $7.1 billion and record net quarterly profit of $1.0 billion, or $1.14 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $5.7 billion and net quarterly profit of $565 million, or $.65 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 31.2 percent, up from 27.2 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 42 percent of the quarter’s revenue.

Apple plans special announcement during Super Bowl

According to several sources, Apple will make a special announcement in a commercial during the Super Bowl on Feb. 4, most likely about adding the Beatles to iTunes Store.

Since Steve Jobs' keynote, rumors have been buzzing about an impending deal with the Beatles that will bring their music to iTunes as an exclusive download distributor. During the keynote, Steve frequently used Beatles music to demonstrate features. The renaming of the company to Apple, Inc. may also signify closer ties with the Beatles Apple Corps.
