VMware releases final version of Fusion

PALO ALTO, Calif., August 6, 2007 —VMware, Inc., the global leader in software for industry-standard virtualized desktops and servers, today announced general availability of VMware Fusion. Based on VMware’s market-leading desktop virtualization platform, VMware Fusion allows Mac users to simultaneously run Mac OS X, Windows and other PC-based applications on a single Mac.

Small Tree Communications, a leader in networking and storage solutions, has recently completed work on new firmware for its single port optical Gigabit adapters that will allow users to NetBoot Apple systems that use Open Firmware Standard (this includes all of Apple’s Power PC systems). With NetBoot, users can boot from the network rather than from a local disk.
