Apple releases a bunch of firmware updates

Apple has released firmware updates for several Macintosh models, including MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac, as well as a firmware update for aluminum keyboards. As usual, the release notes for all firmware updates cryptically state that they "fix several issues to improve the stability" without detailing the actual fixes. Apple has also released a firmware restoration CD to use in emergencies if a firmware update fails.

Google previews new App Engine developer APIs

Google has launched a preview release of Google App Engine, a way for developers to run their web applications on Google's infrastructure. In the same way that Blogger made it easy to create a blog, Google App Engine is designed from the ground up to make it easy to create and run web applications.

Final Cut Server Now Shipping
