Brooklyn, New York, March 16 2009, The Mac culture documentary is available on 2 – disc Special Edition only on MacHEADS website (www.macheadsthemovie.com). The limited DVD features over 2 hours bonus material including in depth discussion about Steve Jobs, Apple co-founder Steve Woz ,early Macintosh vintage clips and archives, the Newton, the first color Macs, MUGs history and contribution to Apple’s success, an open debate about MacHEADS superiority complex, the iPhone launch, I love my Mac music video, theatrical trailers, 4 blazing still galleries, 2 award wining shorts by Chimp 65 productions, interactive menus and subtitles in English. MacHAEDS DVD is available for world distribution.

MacHAEDS DVD is now available for world distribution, the price is $19.99

The indie film made a smashing debut on iTunes and Amazon VOD ranking #2 top selling documentary on both platforms. Producer Ron Shely says “We are extremely happy with the reactions. MacHEADS proves that it’s possible for independent filmmakers to break free form the traditional studio system” MacHEADS debuted at Macworld Expo 2009 with over 1000 people attending the premiere. In a recent interview for a Polish Mac Magazine, director Kobi Shely added, ” There are brilliant books and films covering Apple technology and founders, but we wanted to tell the story of the passionate users who formed a unique culture around the brand”

MacHEADS is an in-depth examination of what makes the Mac, the iPhone, and all Apple products in general a cultural phenomena rather than just consumer electronics, and explores the extraordinary loyalty to Apple products by their followers, as well as their obsession with those products. The film features footage captured from Steve Jobs’ historic Keynote address when he announced the iPhone in 2007, the first iPhone release as it took place in New York City, as well as archived footage from some of the earliest Macworld events.

The film also features footage and commentary from multiple Mac evangelists, including Apple Chief Evangelist and savior Guy Kawasaki; the first official employee of Apple inc., Daniel Kottke; publisher of the first Apple newsletter Adam Engst; author of Cult of Mac, Leander Kaheny; Chicago Sun-Times tech columnist Andy Ihantko; and a special guest appearance by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Read recent reviews by the press:

“The world may have gone gaga over the Oscars this week, but we at AMW can only wonder at the integrity of a process that had no Best Picture recognition for MacHEADS, the self-described ‘fanboy documentary’ that is set to do for Mac fanboy-ism what ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ did for the slums of India” Macworld Australia

“MacHEADS illustrates, with insight and with humor, the extremes take which the fan base take their devotion” Jerusalem Post

* * * *  (Four Stars) “MacHEADS is a fun film with more screwballs than a Mighty Mouse factory, vintage Mac clips and an insight into a community that appears to be on the verge of extinction…There’s a great documentary to be made about the history of Apple, its sudden rise, near death and resurrection. MacHEADS is not it, but its focus on the weird world of the devotee makes it a wonderful social document in the history of people’s computing” Macworld Magazine UK

* * * * (Four Apples) ““Overall, MacHEADS is a great and fun documentary that any Apple fanboy or girl will enjoy. If you’ve ever watched a keynote, attended a Macworld or stood in line to buy something with an Apple logo on it then you’ll have a lot of fun with this documentary”

Appletell.com

“In character sketches, MacHEADS document Macloytes’ adoration for Apple hardware – and their sometimes loathing for Windows PCs – and offers many an eye widening moment… MacHEADS show Apples fandom’s rise to influence, largely via Macintosh User Groups, and fall from favor as the Internet and Apple’s corporate status make MUGs irrelevant at least to Apple.” Julio Ojeda-Zapata  yourtech.com

Dallas, TX, August 19-20th, 2008—Village Tronic is proud to announce Jeremy Sutton’s first two-day Dallas Painter Workshop incorporating Village Tronic’s ViDock Gfx. Taking place at the Fran Reisner Studio, Jeremy will be using different hardware, including the ViDock Gfx to create a dynamic presentation as well as giving students time for hands-on practice with their own image and computer. Briefly the class will encompass the themes of “systems, organization and optimization, loosening up your paintings through use of the ‘muck up’ under-painting technique, selectively refining your image and adding detail and contrasts, and enlivening your imagery through use of color” (Jeremy Sutton). For presentations like this Jeremy states, “The ViDock enabled me to give a live painting demonstration from my MacBook Pro last week in a dramatic and effective way that would not have been possible without the ViDock.”

Jeremy is a great example to show who the ViDock family of graphics docking solutions was created for and its versatility across the business spectrum: the professional user that wants to use a single portable computer both on the road and the option to utilize multiple screens when needed whether that be in the office, studio, classroom or at home.

ViDock Gfx takes advantage of the fast connection offered by ExpressCard technology, the latest standard from PCMCIA for notebook expansion, to deliver an uncompromised user experience in terms of speed, responsiveness, 3D acceleration and resolution support. With the options of VGA, DVI Dual Link, or Dual DVI video output (Pro Edition), all the displays currently in the market can be supported, including the 30” ones at 2560×1600. The operating system compatibility ensures support for Windows Vista, Windows XP and Mac OS X. Aero accelerated user interface for Vista is also supported.

ViDock will be on the market bundled with the valuable software application “VTMultiDisplay” that improves the user experience when working with multiple screens. Thus, allowing the user to analysis large quantities of data. Creative professionals can take advantage of ViDock’s powerful multi-display support to experience the final work on one screen while viewing edit commands on another. ViDock also allows the user to turn a notebook into a high performance graphics platform, with full HDTV support perfect for artists, gamers, and home users alike.

United Kingdom, July 24th, 2008 – Village Tronic announces that the beginning of Jeremy Sutton’s tour is a lecture on July 29 at the Regent Street Apple Store in London where he will be giving a free lecture including a live art demonstration. Then on to the Oxford Internet Institute on July 31st where he will demonstrate how state-of-the-art digital media can be used by a 21st century fine artist by transforming digital photographs into fine art paintings. One device that will be used at both lectures is Village Tronic’s ViDock Gfx. Jeremy stated, “The ViDock enabled me to give a live painting demonstration from my MacBook Pro last week in a dramatic and effective way that would not have been possible without the ViDock….. This is exactly what I had been looking for when I had a booth at WPPI this year and, since it didn’t exist then, I ended up shipping a Mac Pro tower computer since it had two DVI ports built in…. Thank you Village Tronic (Jeremy Sutton).” This is also free and open to the public.
Starting August 1st thru the 4th, Jeremy will be holding a workshop for all levels at Pembroke College in Oxford. This will be a workshop that will try to help unleash creativity with digital media and how to maintain a balance between “control and structure with improvisation and freedom of expression” (Jeremy Sutton). ViDock Gfx will be one of the digital media headliners and will assist with creating a dynamic presentation and easy of using other tools and supporting graphics.
Jeremy is a great example to show who the ViDock family of graphics docking solutions was created for and its versatility across the business spectrum: the professional user that wants to use a single portable computer both on the road and the option to utilize multiple screens when needed whether that be in the office, studio, classroom or at home.
