A lot of great hardware was released in 2009, so here are my favorites:
- Neat Receipts – A small, lightweight, and fast portable scanner. With the bundled NeatWorks software, you can easily and accurately scan business cards, receipts, and other documents. You can import scanned business cards into your addressbook.
- Magic Mouse – The smoothest & most comfortable mouse ever with no buttons, balls, or rollers to get gummed up. The entire mouse surface is clickable, like the MacBook’s trackpad and you can scroll easily by just sliding your finger. Third party software like BetterTouchTool adds additional gestures such as a middle button.
- Drobo – The easiest and most flexible RAID storage device. If you run out of space, you can easily add another drive or replace one of the 4 drives with a larger capacity drive. With a DroboShare, you can run DroboApps such as iTunes media sharing (mt-daapd) or even a web & FTP server.
- Eye-Fi Pro Card – Effortlessly transfers photos from my camera to my computer and photo sharing sites like Flickr as soon as I shoot them, without ever removing the card from the camera. The 4GB Eye-Fi Pro card supports RAW images as well as videos & JPEGs and automatically geotags every picture.
- 27″ Quad Core iMac – The big screen is wonderful for design work & photo editing, and the i7 quad core processor makes it one of the fastest Macs ever. It launches Photoshop in about 10 seconds and can run two Parallels virtual machines at the same time without any noticeable slowdown.
