MacCenter shuts its doors

MacCenter, Fort Lauderdale’s largest Apple reseller and authorized service provicer, has decided to exit the Apple sales & service business.

A note on their website says:

The owners of MacCenter have decided to exit the
Apple Sales and Service Business.

MacCenter is ceasing Consumer Sales, Business Sales
and Service for Apple Products, effective February 28, 2005.

When we opened this store in 1996,
Apple was thought to be failing,
and we were thought to be the crazy ones…
Apple is now thriving, and we’d like to think that
you and MacCenter have been a part of that success.
The entire MacCenter Team would like to THANK YOU
for your continued patronage over the years.

The people at MacCenter were always knowledgeable and helpful, and their service department was excellent. When my new 15″ PowerBook G4 developed memory problems last month, I brought it into MacCenter and they replaced the motherboard in less than a week with no charge, since it’s still under warrantee.

this is devastation!!! can anyone in their wildest mind imagine getting proper service or questions answered from a floor salesman at compusa - they do not even know how to spell ‘mac’!!! what in the world are we going to do…help (i have a powerbook g4 - my logic bd has to be replaced after 20 days - i did send it to texas because maccenter told me they were so bogged down with service items ahead of me that it would be quicker to send it to texas…but texas can be a long way off sometimes…artnoir
