Garageband Won't Record

Hi,
I just bought a MacMini and intrigued with Garageband. I bought a Griffin
technology iMic and adaptor to plug my microphone into, so I could record
my harmonica riffs directly into Garageband. I am unable to record directly
into Garageband. I have spoken directly with technicians from Apple and
Griffin Technology.
My question is, has anyone bought a MacMini and been able to record
directly into Garageband with a Griffin Imic?

Did You Ever Find Out Anything?

Go into the Playstation 2 section of a store and find the Logitec USB microphone used for the game Karaoke Revolution. It works great and you can use it with Garage Band.
