turingart releases new version of OS X address book tool [AB Transfer, 1.5.3]
Kiel, Germany (16th June, 2005) - turingart is pleased to announce the immediate
availability of ‘AB Transfer’ 1.5.3, turingart’s versatile contact data import and export
solution.
‘AB Transfer’ reads CSV-separated, TAB-separated and Act! DBF input files, converts
them to OS X text encodings and finally adds them to OS X’ address book. Furthermore,
it allows to export address book data to be imported in WEB.DE, GMX and PLAXO.COM
web address books. While import uses an OS X address book like user interface to
map fields, exports are one-shot operations.
Release 1.5.3 is more responsive (uses threads), estimates time while performing
lengthy operations and make data preview an optional feature. 1.5.3 is a
maintenance release based of change requests of users.
As a first class OS X citizen, ‘AB Transfer’ isn’t available for other operating system.
An enhanced version ‘AB Transfer Pro’ will allow to import data from database
sources like FileMaker, MySQL or generic ODBC sources. Pro is to be released soon.
