Smith Micro Announces 5th Annual Charity Drive

Aliso Viejo, CA - September 13, 2005 - Smith Micro Software Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI) today announced it will continue the annual tradition of it’s Allume Systems division by donating $1 of each sale from its Websites over the next 30 days to help national and local charities. This year the company will donate all proceeds to the American Red Cross and America’s Second Harvest to help the people affected by Hurricane Katrina.

“When Allume Systems became part of the Smith Micro family in July we decided to continue their tradition of giving,” said William W. Smith, Jr., President & CEO of Smith Micro Software. “The devastation cause by Hurricane Katrina and needs of the people of the Gulf states only highlights the need to give back to the community.”

In addition to this annual charity drive, the company is matching every employee’s donations to the American Red Cross to help the people affected by Hurricane Katrina.
