illumineX ships HoppiX for Mac OS X & holiday sale
Just in time for the holiday, illumineX today announced the availability of HoppiX, a new arcade/puzzle game for Mac OS X, and the newest member of the iX Infinity Game PaX. Until January 1, 2006, the Infinity Game PaX which includes the new game HoppiX and six other games is available for $19.95 — a 30% savings.
HoppiX is a game of elimination. The object is to remove as many marbles as you can from the playing field. Take a marble and “hop” over a neighboring marble. The marble that was hopped over is removed from the playing field. Continue with this until no more hops are possible. If you removed enough marbles from the screen, then you will move on to the next level — or win the game!
HoppiX includes several variations on the basic game as well as many different and lovely sets of marbles. Changing to a new game variant will alter the game board layout and possibly even some of the rules of the game. We also have an Easy - Normal - Hard difficulty selection to make the game even more flexible!
The following game variants are included with HoppiX:
Classic - A single level, shaped like a cross.
Classic Plus - The classic cross shape, with a much larger field of play.
Radioactive - A group of levels shaped like the international symbol for radioactivity.
Smalltime - A collection of smaller level layouts.
Totally Square - A series of square shaped levels that get progressively larger.
HoppiX follows in the footsteps of the Mac OS X game hit, MarbleX and RuniX, making extensive use of the modern OS features found in Mac OS X to provide a game that is easy to use, and fun to play. For example, sound effects can be individually controlled in the Preferences panel. HoppiX also provides Mac Help, including strategy tips and a full description of all game features, an animated dock icon, and both Windowed & Full Screen display modes.

(1) The software is available for free download, and features restricted game play in the free trial mode.
(2) HoppiX or any individual illumineX arcade/puzzle game can be registered for $14.95 (US Dollars) by using the easy-to-use built-in registration system (select “Register Online Now…” from the main HoppiX menu). Registering HoppiX gives the customer access to play beyond the five minute restriction. It also allows saving of high scores.
(3) The iX Infinity Game PaX started with a single game and now includes 7 games, HoppiX, BabelBloX, HextriX, RuniX, RoX, MarbleX, and MnemoniX with hundreds of variations on game play. The pack can be registered during the Holiday Sale for $19.95 using the built-in secure registration system.
