Maine Looks To Continue Apple iBook Program

Spotted via http://www.memap.org -- The Maine Department of Education is making plans to continue the iBook computer program in middle schools beyond the original four-year contract.

Education Commissioner Susan Gendron stated that it would cost the state roughly eight million dollars to continue its current contract with Apple or it would cost about ten million dollars to sign a similar agreement with another hardware provider for a year to replace all thirty four thousand iBook laptops with new machines.
