Does anyone know of a usb microphone that will allow the use of skype-out on the macmini ( macmini has no sound imput)
On recent Macs, I've recorded sound using:
iSight firewire camera,
Firewire DV Canon video camera,
Griffin Technology iMic (USB interface, requires an external microphone), and
Exsound Shark 5.1 USB headphones with built-in microphone (Although the headphones only work as stereo sound output devices.)
All four show up as sound input devices that you can choose with the Sound panel of System Preferences. Well behaved Mac software should work with any of them.
