Virgin Mobile OYSTR review

Ive been a long time fan of Virgin Mobile, (they where my first cell phone provider it was the original VOX) I have quit this company for awhile opting for my two contract phones (cingular, and Nextel..... I lower case cingular because i hate the company and they dont deserve a capital letter). Well being the cell phone whore i am i went into Bestbuy and saw the OYSTR on sale for $14.99, so i figured why not. Now im back, VM has changed a lot i see they offer pay by the month plans and texting packs. Also there website is a hell of a lot nicer now (beats their old static linking. Also i like their incorporation with MTV and Comedy Central and a program called Sugar Momma which involves taking video and text surveys and answering questions and receiving money towards your account.
Okay so I cant be more pleased with the service, but what about the phone? Its very aesthetically pleasing

Small white clamshell design

A relatively lack luster color display

A myriad of manuals, one cool thing that you'll notice on the left is a bag that you can put your old phone in, a very interesting touch on VM's part.

Fits nicely in my pocket

Well now you know what it looks like, The interface is somewhat slow but very simple and graphical. The main menu is all graphical it comes pre-loaded with a few simple tones and it comes with a few very cool youth inspired wall paper and screen savers. It has a web browser (unfortunately no WAP ewwww yuck Open Wave boooo). The sound quality is surprisingly good and the speakerphone is excruciatingly loud. The texting capabilities are pretty basic. I plan to use this phone mainly for web surfing and texting. The main menu uses very bizarre sprites, and it comes with two games (brick and race 21) if anyone cares about such a thing anymore. Also very basic tools like calculator and a calender. I like this phone quiet a bit it is slimming and of decent quality and very cheap price wise. I would give it a 7/10.
