iPhone Rate Plans Revealed

Apple and AT&T have announced their rate plans and activation details for the iPhone. All iPhone rate plans include unlimited data, visual voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, Rollover minutes, and unlimited mobile to mobile.

The individual plans are:

$59.99/month: 450 Minutes; 5000 Nights & Weekend minutes; 200 text messages, unlimited data, rollover minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile.

$79.99/month: 900 Minutes; Unlimited nights & weekends; 200 text messages, unlimited data, rollover minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile.

$99.99/month 1350 Minutes; Unlimited nights & weekends; 200 text messages, unlimited data, rollover minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile.

Additional SMS text messages can be added to any plan.

Family plans feature 700 shared minutes for $80/month, 1400 shared minutes for $100/month, or 2100 shared minutes for $120/month.

Current AT&T or Cingular customers can add unlimited data to their existing voice plan for $20/month with 200 SMS messages, $30/month for 1500 SMS messages, or $40/month for unlimited text messaging.

Unlike other cell phones, which require in-store activation, the iPhone is activated in iTunes using your iTunes Store account when you connect it to your computer for the first time. Apple has posted a video demonstrating activation and syncing here.
