Easy way to install iPhone 1.1.1 apps
Until now, installing third party apps on an iPhone with 1.1.1 firmware or iPod Touch involved downgrading the firmware and multiple restarts, but no more. You can open your iPhone with a single click and without even attaching it to your Mac or PC.
Simply go to jailbreakme.com on your iPhone or iPod Touch and click the Install AppSnap button at the bottom of the page. After a few seconds you’ll see the ’slide to unlock screen’. When you unlock it, you’ll have the installer icon on your home screen. It’s that simple!
The first thing you should do is tap the “Installer” icon, then tap “Sources” and install the “Community Sources” package. Next you’ll want to install the BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH, also under “System.” Finally, you’ll need an application launcher. There’s XLaunch under “System” and others. Note that some of these utilities require an iPhone and won’t work on an iPod Touch.
