Downtime
As you've probably noticed, this site was down for most of the day. Dreamhost had a major meltdown when they moved their server cluster. I've signed up at two other hosting services and I'm evaluating which one I will move my sites to.

Re: Downtime
Mike,
I've been a 3+ year Dreamhost customer and have had my share of BS as well as you must have had too...
Sorry to see you go, I feel DreamHost offers the quality service at a decent cost, I had once considered running my site
on my iMac G5, But I need more horsepower and will not be getting a new machine until the spring....
I've recently noticed a few software titles which put everything on your Mac, php, Apache, the whole works..
But for now, my Dreamhost subscription ends in 2010, I've not had too much non sense and update/maintain my own site
without Dreamhost help when possible, except for a crashed server...
Good Luck In your Search!

Re: Downtime
I'm staying with Dreamhost for now, although I did sign up at HostGator and I moved my personal site (http://mcdevzone.com/) there. I haven't had to pay DreamHost for several years, thanks to referrals, so that's a big factor in moving. I'm now using a virtual private server, so I'm able to adjust the memory & CPU as necessary depending on traffic.
From what I've seen of other hosting companies (and I've used quite a few before settling here), Dreamhost seems to suck the least. I really hate sites that use CPanel, since it's a lot less flexible than Dreamhost's control panel.

Mike,
I am very happy that MacMegasite is back up, and that I can post here again :)
