Apple releases a bunch of firmware updates
Apple has released firmware updates for several Macintosh models, including MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac, as well as a firmware update for aluminum keyboards. As usual, the release notes for all firmware updates cryptically state that they "fix several issues to improve the stability" without detailing the actual fixes. Apple has also released a firmware restoration CD to use in emergencies if a firmware update fails.
I installed the firmware update on my MacBook Pro (LCD Backlit Core 2 Duo) with no problems and nothing noticeably different after the update.
The appropriate firmware update should appear in Software Update if one is needed. Here are the direct links to download each update:
