TextMate is a great text editor and a fantastic programmers editor. What makes it great is the number of Bundles available for it that turn TextMate into a full blown IDE for many different languages. As David Alison found though, using the Ruby on Rails bundle for TextMate can be a bit intimidating – there are so many features.
