Get your iPhone 2.0 firmware early
TUAW has posted a link where the new iPhone 2.0 firmware can be downloaded now. I’ve installed it on my iPhone successfully, although it had to completely restore the iPhone contents from the backup.
To install the new firmware, you must have iTunes 7.7, which was released earlier today. Download the firmware here and make sure it’s not unzipped and has the extension ipsw, not zip. In iTunes, hold down the option key and click Restore for your iPhone. You can then choose the ipsw file and start the update.
