Apple bought, shut down Camerai and assimilated its employees — Apple World Today

Unnamed “people familiar with the deal” told Calcalist that the company was sold to Apple a year and a half ago for “several tens of millions of dollars and was folded into Apple’s computer vision team.” Camerai made “a cross-platform graphical engine with the first AR Studio for developers whiling to deliver revolutionary user experiences.”

At the time of its sale to Apple, the company employed 13 workers in Tel Aviv. According to Calcalist, most were integrated into Apple’s office in Herzliya, Israel.
