Simply stated, the HEX Adventure Armenia Backpack is a looker! It’s sure to garner compliments from friends and people you meet in your travels.

Functionality

Looks aside, the most important part of a backpack is to organize and carry a load comfortably. The comfort of this bag is outstanding, with one of the more comfortable strap systems I’ve used.

One feature I really liked was that the interior of the backpack is accessible two ways — from the zippered top, and from a side zipper near the straps. This makes it easy to get to items inside the bag without having to open the top, although you wouldn’t be able to remove a laptop from the suspension pocket.

You might think that a backpack that is as unique as this one would cost more. It’s actually about the same price as a very “plain-Jane” 30L backpack I purchased a few years ago. I have to admit that I prefer the features of that backpack (a Pacsafe VentureSafe X30) over those of the Adventure Armenia. While they’re both 30L backpacks, there are many more pockets available on the Pacsafe. That makes it easy for me to separate items by type – tech (cables and connectors) in one pocket, camera goodies in another, a jacket, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro in the suspension pocket, and so on. That backpack also has anti-slash straps and RFID blocking, two security features not found in the Adventure Armenia.

I found that the one wet/dry pocket was perfectly sized for a water bottle or other beverage. It’s nicely padded as well, so a glass bottle of beer could be stashed in there without being seen or being subject to damage.

Conclusion

I give the HEX Adventure Armenia backpack high scores for being the best-looking bag I’ve seen in a long time. It’s also reasonably priced for a unique bag, and it’s extremely comfortable to carry. On the negative side, it could use more exterior pockets. There are a lot of MOLLE pouches you can buy to add space to the Adventure Armenia, but you’re going to pay more for that space.
