Plugable’s TBT3-UDZ is a Thunderbolt 3 dock that’s backward compatible with USB-C and forward compatible with USB4 and Thunderbolt 4. It supports performance at a superset of all of these standards: 40Gbps, two displays, and the maximum laptop charging rate supported by Thunderbolt devices (96W of power, the max charging rate allowed under 100 watts).
It sports HDMI and DisplayPort port options, which helps reduce the need for other docks or desk accessories. In other words, its backward and forward compatibility, so that users can use the dock with a majority of computers (Macs and Windows system) and monitors, old and new.
The folks at Plugable say that the TBT3-UDZ sports an Intel Titan Ridge Chipset that allows for more compatibility with both Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C laptops being supported. Its dock design allows you to connect up to two additional 4K displays with your port of choice using either HDMI or DisplayPort without the need for external adapters. The dock also includes a USB-C 10Gbps port, a USB-A Gbps port, five USB 5Gbps ports, SD/Micro SD ports, Ethernet, and audio ports.
