[ad_1]

[prMac.com] Dusseldorf, Germany – Independent developer, Timo Josten, the maker of the popular file sharing app Dropshare, today is proud to announce the release of Shortshare, a new URL shortening utility for macOS and iOS. Shortshare supports all major URL shorteners (Bitly, Rebrandly, Shortio, Tinyurl, Kutt, Is.gd, Hive, dsh.re) as well as self-hosted solutions like YOURLS and anything with a custom API. It supports features like custom URLs or custom URL keywords (e.g. bit.ly/your-custom-keyword) for shortened URLs (if supported by the shortening service), and comes with a history of all previously shortened URLs.

On the Mac, Shortshare is a discreet menu bar application that appears when using a user-defined keyboard shortcut or clicking the app icon in the menu bar. It also ships with a Safari App Extension that adds an icon to the Safari navigation bar, and thus is always at-hand when needed.

On the iPhone or iPad, the Shortshare app comes with an Action Extension that can be used with any browser available for iOS. The app offers a handy overview of all previously shortened URLs and a search functionality. The URL history synchronises automatically with Shortshare on the Mac and other iOS devices.

System Requirements:
* Requires macOS 11.0 or later
* Supports iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
* Requires iOS/iPadOS 14.0 or later
