1: With emoji and AirDrop, it started Back to the Mac in October but wasn’t released until July.

OS X 10.7 Lion

With emoji (first version of OS X with an Emoji font) and AirDrop (it introduced AirDrop too), it started Back to the Mac in October (it was previewed at the Back to the Mac special event on 20 October 2010) but wasn’t released until July (it was finally released on 20 July 2011, nine months after its preview).

2: This Big Bang brought AppleScript, aliases and TrueType.

This Big Bang (its internal codename) brought AppleScript, aliases and TrueType (three of the major new features it introduced when it was released on 13 May 1991).

3: The smaller of two towers in 1991, it replaced II with 40.

Macintosh Quadra 700

The smaller of two towers in 1991 (introduced with the 900 in October 1991, Apple’s first two tower models), it replaced II (successor to the Mac II series) with 40 (it introduced the Motorola 68040 CPU).
