Apple Watch Series 10 to feature larger display, thinner design – Ming-Chi Kuo
TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the next-gen Apple Watch Series 10 will be thinner and have a larger screen. It will also include components manufactured using 3D-printing technology which have “significantly improved” production efficiency, as proven in intensive testing.
1. The Series 10 will feature form factor upgrades, including larger screen sizes (increasing from 45mm/41mm to about 49mm/45mm) and a thinner design.
2. The specifications of the Apple Watch Ultra model will remain roughly the same. If production yields meet expectations, new case color options (black/dark) may be introduced.
3. Beginning in 2H24, Apple Watch will include components manufactured using 3D printing technology. Although there was no mass production last year, intensive testing over the past year has significantly improved the production efficiency of 3D printing.
4. BLT is the supplier of the 3D-printed components. Unlike last year, when BLT was an equipment supplier, this year, this company will produce the components. Due to the cost advantages of 3D printing, BLT’s shipments of 3D-printed components are expected to continue to grow in the coming years, with the potential to produce Apple Watch cases (as the difficulty is lower compared to the cases of other Apple products).

MacDailyNews Take: Hopefully, the larger display (generally draws more power) combined with a thinner design (physically contains less battery) will at least offer the same battery life as Apple Watch Series 9 (here’s looking hopefully at you, Apple S10 SiP).
