Best Prices Today: EaseUS MobiSaver for Mac
We’re always on the lookout for the best data recovery apps for your iPhone, and EaseUS has been offering data recovery tools for years.
The company has a recovery tool for just about anything, including creaking old hard drives (read our review of EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac), but its EaseUS Mobisaver tool has been on our radar for years.
Capable of recovering contacts, media, app history, and more, even when using backups rather than your actual device, it’s long been in use at repair shops the world over. The trouble is, the starting price of $79.95 per year on Mac ($59.95 on Windows, curiously) means that it’s likely to be prohibitive for some that just need to recover a quick text message or file attachment.
In fact, EaseUS Mobisaver comes in at $59.95/£55.70 per month or $79.95/£74.29 per year, nudging users to the $99.95/£92.87 lifetime membership.
So, while it’s a great app that produces excellent results, it won’t be for many.
First Impressions
Foundry
I really like the overall look and feel of EaseUS Mobisaver, which doesn’t try to make itself look like a stock Mac app.
It leans on a bluish/purple hue that helps it stand out and offers some slick animations for scanning data. I was a little worried when it told me my phone would take 2 hours to scan, but thankfully that soon dropped to around 35 minutes.
It’s still not fast, especially compared to something like Dr Fone, but it’s at least not as long as anticipated.
EaseUS Mobisaver features
Foundry
EaseUS offers a whole array of tools, but they’re separate purchases and downloads. That’s a good thing because it means Mobisaver can stand on its own, free of clutter.
By allowing that laser focus, Mobisaver is able to recover a huge number of content types, from messages, WhatsApp, and Safari Bookmarks, all the way to deleted Reminders or Calendar appointments.
The Free version will let you recover a smaller number of items at once, while the Professional version removes those limits.
Both versions can also recover data from iTunes or iCloud backups–handy if the device in question is lost.
EaseUS Mobisaver annoyances
While the price will put off many, if you’re looking to quickly recover something, you’ll need to be prepared for a long wait.
EaseUS Mobisaver finishes its initial scan, then takes more time to scan–and shows 100% completion while it keeps running. As a result, there’s no way to tell how long it’ll take, and more than once I thought the app had crashed.
The Bottom Line
It’s expensive and a little slow, but EaseUS Mobisaver is a great recovery app – it’s just tailored more to businesses than it is to the everyday consumer.
