It’s official: Apple announces ‘It’s Glowtime’ September 9th special event

Apple on Monday officially announced it will hold a special media event at its Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California, on September 9th, where the company is expected to announce new iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods models.

Apple is set to unveil its latest products at a virtual launch event, which will be streamed live on both its website and YouTube. This marks a continuation of the company’s practice of pre-recorded product launches, a strategy implemented in 2020.

The highly anticipated fall event is expected to feature new iPhone and Apple Watch models. Analysts have suggested that the iPhone 16 lineup may include larger displays for premium models, a revamped camera module, and fresh color options. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch is rumored to receive a performance boost with a faster chip and a slightly larger display.

In addition to hardware, Apple will likely announce the release date for the latest version of its iOS operating system. iOS 18, which will introduce Apple Intelligence – a suite of AI-powered features for everyday tasks like message summarization and image generation – is expected to begin rolling out features to users shortly after the hardware launch. It will take many months for all of the Apple Intelligence features shown by Apple in June at WWDC to reach customers.

The invitations for this year’s event feature the tagline “It’s Glowtime,” likely referencing redesign of the Siri interface.
