Huawei plans to unveil new products just hours after Apple’s iPhone 16 event

Huawei is gearing up to unveil a new lineup of products just hours after Apple’s iPhone 16 launch event. Richard Yu, head of the consumer group, announced the September 10th reveal on Weibo, teasing a “groundbreaking” product that has been in development for five years. According to sources, Huawei plans to introduce the world’s first commercially available smartphone that folds twice like a trifold wallet.

Yuan Gao for Bloomberg News:

The company is also preparing an Aito electric vehicle launch, though the final products to be released are subject to change, the person said, asking not to be named discussing private plans.

Archrival Apple is launching its new family of iPhone handsets and accessories on Sept. 9, making its pitch for why consumers should upgrade their devices.

Yu has been spotted with the new device in hand, dubbed a trifold. Its key advantage would be the ability to fit an even larger, tablet-like screen inside the dimensions of a regular smartphone.
