‘Slow Horses’ season four breaks Rotten Tomatoes records
Gary Oldman leads season four of “Slow Horses,” which premiered globally on September 4, 2024 on Apple TV+.
The hit Apple TV+ series “Slow Horses” is darkly funny espionage drama follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes. Led by their brilliant but irascible leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Academy Award winner Gary Oldman), they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.

Gary Oldman’s hit series Slow Horses returned with a new batch of episodes on September 4 and has already smashed a slew of records and earned rave reviews from critics.
[T]he new series boasts an astonishing 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, after previously never falling below 98% since it first launched back in 2021.
This latest achievement also makes Slow Horses Apple TV’s highest-rated show ever. The first and third seasons earned a 98% score, with the second also sitting at an impressive 100%.
The Telegraph‘s Anita Singh, who gave the show four stars, wrote that the spy thriller is ‘faultless’ and boasts a ‘stellar cast’. She gushed: ‘We’re into series four now and there is no drop in quality. If anything, each series improves slightly on the last. Watching it is pure pleasure. There isn’t a wasted scene or a duff piece of dialogue.’
Meanwhile, Forbes‘ Erik Kain penned that ‘Jackson Lamb is the hero television needs right now’. He added: ‘Yet another terrific premiere for Slow Horses which continues to be one of the very best TV shows on streaming right now and yet another hit for Apple TV.’
