Apple’s iCloud Keychain is fantastic when using Safari on different devices, but it’s not as useful when switching to a different browser. Not anymore. Mozilla has announced that a new iCloud Passwords extension for Firefox for macOS is now available. The extension will allow Firefox to access iCloud Keychain and fill in usernames and passwords when needed for accessing accounts online.

The iCloud Passwords extension for Firefox can also create passwords that are saved to the iCloud Keychain and synced to the Passwords app. The extension requires macOS Sonoma or later. An iCloud Bookmarks extension for Firefox for Windows is also available and requires iCloud for Windows. It allows Windows PC users to sync bookmarks with iCloud.

With macOS Sequoia, Apple introduced a new Passwords app where users can manage password information. The password integration came built into Safari, while Google Chrome has its own iCloud Passwords extension. There’s also an iCloud Passwords add-on for Microsoft Edge for Mac.
