Apple’s new M4 MacBook Air is $100 more affordable, despite tariff concerns

Apple’s new M4 MacBook Air comes in two perfectly portable sizes: a 13-inch and a 15-inch model.
Apple’s new M4 MacBook Air has a starting price of $999 for the 13-inch model, with the 15-inch model starting at $1,099. That’s $100 less than previous models. Both versions go on sale March 12th.
Despite seemingly everything getting more expensive, Apple is cutting the price of the new Air by $100. The price drop is even more surprising given that many experts believe new tariffs implemented by [U.S. President] Donald Trump will cause electronics to become more expensive.
In addition to the upgraded MacBook, Apple also announced a new version of its Mac Studio, as well as a chip upgrade to the iPad Air. These new product announcements come less than a month after Apple unveiled the low-cost iPhone 16e.
MacDailyNews Take: There are at least half a trillion reasons why Apple will be largely exempted from U.S. import tariffs.
