Apple releases new firmware for 25W MagSafe Charger

Apple’s MagSafe Charger provides faster wireless charging up to 25W when paired with a 30W power adapter.

Apple has rolled out a firmware update for the 25W MagSafe Charger, which works with iPhone 12 and newer models, as well as AirPods models with a wireless charging case. The new firmware version is 2A146, an upgrade from the previous 2A143 released earlier this year. Within the Settings app, this update is reflected as version 136, replacing the prior version 133.

Juli Clover for MacRumors:

Apple launched the 2024 ‌MagSafe‌ charger alongside the iPhone 16 models, and it is able to charge them at up to 25W. For the ‌iPhone‌ 12 models to the iPhone 15 models, charging is capped at 15W.

Because firmware updates are released quietly over the air, Apple does not provide release notes. We don’t know what new features or bug fixes might be included in the software.
