iOS 18.4 causing deleted apps to mysteriously reappear on iPhones

0

On March 31, Apple released iOS 18.4. However, as noted by MacRumors, it seems to be causing deleted apps to reappear on some users’ iPhones.

If you still wish to download iOS 18.4, on your iPhone go to Settings > General > Software Update. Several Reddit threads (1,2,3,4) and posts on Apple’s Community Support pages the iOS 18.4 update is causing apps to reappear – even ones deleted months or even years ago.

MacRumors notes that the behavior doesn’t seem to be related to Apple’s Automatic Downloads option either. Likewise, the bug is impacting users with devices that have never been jailbroken and have never used an alternative marketplace outside of the App Store. It seems the only solution is to re-delete reappearing apps that you don’t want.

I hope you’ll help support Apple World Today by becoming a patron. Patreon pricing ranges from $2 to $10 a month. Thanks in advance for your support.
