Foldable iPhone concept

Leaker “Instant Digital” via Weibo claims Apple’s first foldable iPhone will be priced between $2100 and $2300. Multiple sources indicate Apple plans to release this device next year with the iPhone 18 lineup, featuring a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display with an almost 4:3 aspect ratio.

Michael Burkhardt for 9to5mac:

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously shared that this foldable iPhone would start over $2000. Today’s new detail from Instant Digital gives us a more precise idea: Based on the iPhone’s profit margin, the iPhone foldable screen is estimated to start at between US$2,100 and US$2,300, not much more expensive than Samsung’s.

This is a fair bit higher than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 offering, which starts at $1899.99 currently. Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold starts slightly lower, at $1799.

MacDailyNews Take: If the first foldable iPhone is $2,300 or less, Apple won’t be able to make enough to satisfy demand.
