Apple TV+ hit series ‘The Studio’ could go on endlessly

“The Studio” premiered on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 on Apple TV+.
In the new Apple TV+ hit series “The Studio,” Seth Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.
Russ Milheim for The Direct:
The Studio is Apple TV+’s latest comedy that makes fun of the film industry and those in its complex hierarchy — and according to the co-showrunner, they hope to keep it going for quite some time.
The Studio co-showrunner Alex Gregory sat down with The Direct’s Russ Milheim to talk all about the new series.
The Direct: “Now the concept of this show lends itself to nearly endless amounts of stories. What is your long-term plan for the show? How long do you see it potentially running for?”
Alex Gregory: I think we’d like to keep doing it indefinitely… Put it this way, I don’t think there are any plans for an end… I am hopeful [for a Season 2].
MacDailyNews Take: We’d be fine with that and so would, we bet, executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Alex Gregory.
