[prMac.com] Urayasu, Chiba, Japan – Independent developer, NOKKEUSI Inc. today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Chorus Lesson 1.0, its choral practice app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The worldwide COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has put an end to group choir practice in many areas of the world. Chorus Lesson allows choral members to practice individually, while still being able to sing along with the other parts of the choir.

Using Chorus Lesson, the user begins their rehearsal session while listening to only their part of the melody. (Options include Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass and any parts in MIDI data.) After checking their part of the melody, the user can then sing along with the other parts of the song. This allows them to check the overall flow and how the chord sounds.

“In recent months, many choral groups have been forced to abandon group practice, due to the coronavirus outbreak, making it impossible for choral members to practice alongside other members,” says Hirotoshi Nakanishi, owner of NOKKEUSI Inc. “While group practice online is impractical, due to delay problems with the internet, Chorus Lesson allows users to practice solo while still being able to hear the other choral members’ parts.”

When the user is initially practicing the song, they can mute their part and practice, much like performing karaoke. Since the playing position is displayed on screen with the measure number, it is simple to check the music with the score.

Plus, users can take advantage of the app’s built-in metronome and pitch change functions. If a user finds it difficult to distinguish their part from the other parts, they cab change the instrument of individual part. Also, the playback rate is adjustable to track their melody. The app also allows users to set mute, soloed, volume, panning and instrument for each part.

Chorus Lesson allows users to use the above features without requiring much specialized knowledge about DTM or music notation software. It acts as kind of a MIDI player, created for learning an individual part of each song.

The files played in this app are standard MIDI files. This allows users to make use of their own MIDI file created with music notation software or those downloaded from the internet or shared by others. (It should be noted that some MIDI files may not play well, because of too many parts in the file. The app assumes a chorus of SATB and accompaniment piano + 1 or 2 more parts.)

Users can also take advantage of the app’s built-in Song Data Shop. here, they can purchase and download song dat via a convenient in-app purchase. The songs in the shop are created for use with Chorus Lesson, and the song library will continue to grow.
