[prMac.com] Rotterdam, The Netherlands – The team at Metamotifs today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Auxl 1.0.10, their popular native API client for macOS. This native API client for macOS provides a powerful node-based system that offers a whole new way to organize, test, and develop APIs.

While Auxl falls into the same category as other API clients, such as Postman, PAW, or Insomnia, it sets itself apart thanks to its modular, node-based design, as well as its expansive toolkit of modules that allows developers to express any type of API flow. Users can select from an ever-expanding module toolkit, with access to any combination of REST, GraphQL and WebSocket sources. Developers can authenticate, perform regular expressions, run Javascript, generate dates, hashes, nonces, and much more.

“Auxl provides a flexible space to interact with APIs of any complexity, whether it’s sending a simple form, uploading a file to S3, or building out a custom authentication scheme,” says Metamotifs CEO, Joost Verrijt. “The output of a module can be used as input for another module to create dynamic configurations and payloads. Auxl’s autocomplete support makes it easy to discover and insert variables.”

API clients take the pain out of interacting with and designing APIs. They allow developers to test backend functionality without writing code and are usually the first step in validating a contract between systems. In the past, APIs have mostly been built using the REST style, but new standards like GraphQL have have gained acceptance in recent years.

Developers will find that working in Auxl is quite intuitive. However, if assistance is required, then ample documentation and examples are just a few clicks of a mouse away. Developers can create snippets of their compositions for quick reuse. This allows the most used operations are just a few keystrokes away.

Version 1.0.10 includes:
* Fixed where generator node was not hooked up to anything in OAuth example
* Adding a configuration without a title now triggers an error
* Better visibility of disabled connections
* Textual / casing issues in settings
* Output bottom toolbar would not respond to theme changes
* Fixed crash in node selector panel while navigating with keyboard
* Syntax highlighting for Regex now works in “Light” and “Auxl” themes
* Browser snippet now has cookie parameter and explanation on out and console

Auxl offers console-style output to reduce on-screen clutter by putting the user in control of what gets displayed on-screen. Auxl is theme-able, provides syntax highlighting, offer preview support, and handles large responses with ease. Its robust, full-featured, and high-performance HTTP client supports a wide range of standards and protocols, including HTTP/2, Brotli, and TLS 1.3.

Developers can easily extend and automate their projects, thanks to the ability to use JavaScript to write assertions and data transformations. Programmers can also build exit conditions for browser or web sockets to further automate their API flows.

Security and privacy protections are strong in Auxl. Secrets and passwords are protected by default by using strong encryption. Full project encryption can be enabled to provide an added layer of security. The information never leaves the developer’s Mac.

Auxl has been built from the ground up, running natively on both traditional Intel-based Macs and Apple’s new Apple Silicon-based mac lineups. The application offers excellent performance, great battery life, and boasts a familiar macOS look and feel.
