Apple shares rise Tuesday, but still underperforms market

Apple (AAPL) stock edged up 0.45% to close at $209.07 on Tuesday, defying the mixed performance of the broader market. The NASDAQ gained 1.26%, while the Dow Jones fell 0.76%.

This marked Apple’s second day of consecutive gains. However, the stock still sits $11.13 below its 52-week high of $220.20 reached in June 12th. Additionally, Apple underperformed some of its tech peers. Microsoft (MSFT) rose 0.73%, Alphabet Class C (GOOG) climbed 2.65%, and Alphabet Class A (GOOGL) gained 2.68%.

Trading volume for Apple remained subdued, at 55.5 million shares, which is 16.3 million below its 50-day average volume of 71.8 million.
